February garden preparation & early spring flowers

Hello garden friends! I cannot believe how long it has been since lasting posting. Never have I went this long without keeping y'all updated.

Alas, there has not been much garden activity since October.

The only bit of growing I have been doing is watering and mulching the houseplants. There is cilantro growing in a garden bed outdoors, still, that's about it as far as food.

Tomorrow is March 1st and spring will be presenting itself soon. Spring flowers are pushing through soil. The hyacinths, tulips, irises, lilies, and daffodils are showing their leaves.

I have covered the tulip beds with garden cloth, as it is still cold. The daffodils are blooming as well as the crocuses, so that has had a bit of charm to a dreary landscape.

The peach trees, pears, blueberries, aronia, goji berries, nectarines are budding too. I can't wait to gaze at the delicate flowering landscape once again this spring, and smell the sweet blooming fruit trees.

Of course I am plotting my plans, writing lists of tasks and marking them off as they're completed in the garden.

I sowed indoors beefsteak, red cherry and black krim tomato seed, including Hungarian yellow wax banana pepper, jalapeno and green pepper seeds.

I still have to mulch the beds and cover the tunnel with transparent plastic sheeting.  I bought seeds of Lettuce, spinach, kale, peas and radish, and I will directly sow these seeds in the garden beds after getting the beds mulched and covered.

4 of the 6 garden beds are covered and prepped. The only bit left is to mulch those beds and sow seed.

Used the bulb planter tool to add pockets of fine garden soil for sowing seeds

This coming week will be in the 50s and 60s so there will much to do! Stay tuned.
