Ginger Bread Man Smoothie

  • 15-30 dates, soaked
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1 cup, or more, Vanilla Almond mylk
  • dash of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice
  • 1-2 Bananas, optional
"Pit" your dates, otherwise known as de-seeding them. Then soak dates in 3 cups of water for 20 minutes or longer. I find that dates that have been soaking for longer than 20 minutes becomes tasteless. You could also chop your dates before soaking. Chopping dates will allow for better incorporation with the water when blending.
After soaking, pour out some water and blend dates with remaining water. Pulse blend for 5 minutes or until desired consistency. Taste test to ensure desired consistency, add more water if needed, but add Almond mylk at this time, as well as desired spices. Add bananas if you so desire. In the winter, blend ripe fresh bananas, and in the Summer add Frozen bananas instead to create a Cool drink.
Blend for additional 2 minutes or so until you are satisfied with the consistency and flavor, adjust to your satisfaction.
